Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom  ® Theme Park is a “Jungle Adventure” covering more than 500 acres. With area themes and flavors ranging from the African Savannah to the India Jungle to the Land of Dinosaurs you’ll have plenty to explore and enjoy. The Animal Kingdom is Disney’s largest park covering more square acres than the other 3 parks combined. It is lushly landscaped with more than 4 million (3,000 species) trees, plants, shrubs, vines, grasses, ferns, etc. and some 1,500 animals (250 species) eating 4 tons of food each day (4 ½ year supply for you) including more than 80,000 crickets each month (YUCK!).

The center piece of the Animal Kingdom, the “Tree Of Life”, is situated in the middle of the park and can be seen from just about anywhere in the park and even from the parking lot. The trunk of this magnificent creation is covered with 325 carving representations of animals, birds and other wild life and is awesome to behold. There are over 103,000 thousand leaves on this tree for your enjoyment as well. Inside the enormous trunk of this tree you’ll find “It’s Tough to be a Bug!” a show about all our creepy, crawly friends that is sure to make you squirm.

Several other attractions include the “Kilimanjaro Safaris”, “Kali River Rapids”, “Wildlife Express Train”, “Conservation Station”, “Festival of the Lion King”, “Primeval Whirl!”, “Pandora – The World Of Avatar”, and much more.

And don’t forget Expedition EVEREST, a thrill ride to the top of Mount Everest and BACK DOWN!!!  Legend holds that high in the Himalayan Mountains lives an enormous creature that fiercely guards the route to Mount Everest. Now that legend comes dramatically to life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom in a new high-speed train adventure that combines coaster-like thrills with the excitement of a close encounter of the hairy kind. Walt Disney World guests will discover for themselves the fearsome legend of the yeti when they take the adventure of Expedition EVEREST.

Dining in the Animal Kingdom caters to a wide variety of tastes from burgers and fries to exotic ethnic dishes. You’ll have the opportunity to experience flavors and the atmosphere from around the world. One of the best know restaurants at Animal Kingdom is “Rainforest Cafe”. If you’ve never eaten in one you should experience it at least once.

The Animal Kingdom is not only an adventure park but also a “learning” park. Similar to Epcot, where you can learn and experience cultures from around the world, you’ll also experience cultural diversity from one area of the Animal Kingdom to another. At the same time you’ll also have the opportunity to learn and discover things about exotic animals, birds, reptiles and plants. Disney’s Animal Kingdom is truly an “Adventure”…… You’ll love it.
